Jing Quan Dao () is a modern martial arts style created by Alex Tao (Tao Zhong Xian) of Shandong province. It is a combination of different Chinese martial art styles designed for practical applications. Founded as a new martial art in 1995, Jing Quan Dao translates as ''Jing'': to grab/capture/alert; ''Quan'': fist or boxing; and ''Tao'': teaching or theory. Known as the "Way of the Alert Fist," it combines traditional Chinese martial arts styles like Eagle Claw and Chin Na with modern fighting techniques from Jeet Kune Do and Muay Thai. Violent speed and forceful footwork are applied to shock when attacking and to defeat an opponent's attack when countering. When practicing Jing Quan Dao, there are three progressive stages that must be in mind. 1st: Striking: 9 traditional Chinese hand-strikes are used, which are: # Fingers: to grap/ poke/ scratch # Fist: to punch/ block # Forearm: to block/ parry/ trap # Foot: kicks are kept to targets below the belt # Head: to headbutt the face/ buttocks/ abdomen # Elbow # Knee # Hips: to throw opponent # Shoulders: to push away opponent 2nd: Throwing: after hitting and countering, quick throws are applied to eliminate opponent's attacks. 3rd: Locks: (also called Chin Na) are used to break and dislocate opponent's bones and eliminating future advances from the enemy. Weapons training is limited to nunchuks, battons and two section sticks used to control and disarm.〔http://www.logoi.com/jingquan.html〕 Qigong meditation and exercises are used in the style. Internal (scholar) Qigong for power and external (Warrior/Hard body) Qigong for physical strength and sensitivity/ pain control are trained.〔http://jqdkungfu.com/1e_1.php〕 Tao is now based in San Jose, California. ==References== 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Jing Quan Dao」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
